Vii Dubai popped (back) onto our radar earlier this year when they announced that their popular EnVii Ladies Night was back. Running every Tuesday from 8:00pm to 1:00am, all ladies receive unlimited house drinks and 30% off a select food menu.
Ah, the perks of being a woman 🙂
Unfortunately, our plans didn’t allow us to stop by on a Tuesday but we did make it there on a Thursday night, which is themed as “Take Over Thursday” with a cool mix of music. Pra gathered her trusty group of besties and headed off to the 7th floor of the Conrad Hotel where Vii Dubai is located to indulge in a much-needed girls’ night!
Vii Dubai is actually made up of three inter-connected venues: the terrace bar, the lounge, and Vii Club. What really caught our attention, though, is the terrace. It’s definitely the statement-maker of the three spaces.
It feels like an urban rooftop secret garden with walls of rich greenery and a huge foliage dome that covers the bar, complete with a sparkling chandelier. The decor is a visual feast, with wood-paneled walls, an eclectic mix of metal, leather and upholstered chairs, and fairy lights draped around on potted trees. Set against the Dubai skyline, the terrace has a very cool and unique vibe that’ll entice you to stay for just one more drink as you lap up the buzzing atmosphere.
And don’t worry about the summer sun—they have a separate glass dome that they put up to keep you from roasting in the heat whilst outside!
When we arrived, we settled into a corner with a sofa and two grand armchairs, ordered our drinks (gin-based, of course) and some nibbles and spent a few hours catching up on life and work. The crowd at Vii veers towards the young, fun-loving, and gorgeous, and the place seems to always be filled with awesome energy. The night we were there, there was a lot of deep house music and hipsters…so we may have stood out a little bit but it was still good fun!
The fusion food menu is fab, with an entire section dedicated to Japanese dishes and you can even watch the chefs in action at the sushi counter. Out of all of our nibbles, we have to say that the sushi was absolutely delicious and the star of the night! The extensive menu has everything from sliders to risotto, though, so even the pickiest of eaters will find something to sate their appetite.
What keeps Vii fresh are their different theme nights, catering to various crowds and music tastes. On Mondays, starting at 9:30pm, they’re currently hosting Bass Mic band with singer Sara Tarabulsi and her guitarist. Tuesdays are, as mentioned earlier, EnVii Ladies Night and if you love house music, you’ll want to stop in on Disconekt Night on Wednesdays. Thursdays (the night we were there) have a mix of music that make it more all-inclusive and Fridays are Risque Night with hip-hop and R&B.
All in all, Vii Dubai is definitely one of those “let’s just go have some fun” places. So pick a night, throw on your party clothes, and be transported away in the secret garden.
